The group journal is a shared space using a messaging tool like Slack or WhatsApp for team members to post and celebrate their activity, progress, or milestones along their wellness journey. The simple act of posting can motivate others to do something they might not have done on their own. This concept can be used to keep others in the loop, log moments, and inspire others, whether themed on wellness, innovation, AHA moments, or another desired activity. This provides both motivation and a sense of belonging to something bigger than yourself.
What to do:
❶ Set up a channel for your Wellness Journal on a virtual chat platform (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, etc.), where team members can easily access and contribute to the conversation at any time.
❷ Team members use the chat to share their wellness goals, daily routines, new habits, or any activities that contribute to their overall well-being. This could include fitness goals, mindfulness practices, healthy eating habits, or hobbies that promote relaxation and stress relief.
❸ Colleagues react to and comment on each other’s posts, offering words of encouragement, support, and motivation. This creates a positive and supportive environment where team members feel empowered to continue their personal commitment to their well-being.
❹ Unlike traditional meetings, the Wellness Journal is an ongoing conversation that team members can contribute to at any time. This flexibility allows individuals to share updates and insights whenever it’s convenient for them, without the need for scheduled meetings.
❺ Team members can use the Wellness Journal to hold themselves accountable for their wellness goals and track their progress over time. Regular reflection on their experiences can help individuals identify what’s working well and areas for further improvement.
