Aha Board

Make a habit of discovering, recognizing & sharing what you learn

MAKE A HABIT OF DISCOVERING, RECOGNIZING & SHARING WHAT YOU LEARN.

The Aha Board, whether physical or virtual, serves as a central hub for employees to reflect and share insights, inspirations, and revelations that have positively impacted their approach to work or life in general.

This tool helps you to foster a culture of life-long learning and collaboration within the organization, ultimately driving success and innovation in both work and life.

As you use the Aha Board, it will begin to influence your other daily and weekly routines to increase the frequency of your aha moments.

What to do:

Depending on whether the team works in-office or remotely, the Aha Board can be physical, like a whiteboard or corkboard, or virtual, using digital tools like Miro (a digital collaboration platform).

❶ Ask everyone to jot down their “aha!” moments on sticky notes (physical or digital) and add them to the board. This allows for easy organization and visualisation of ideas.
❷ Schedule weekly or bi-weekly review sessions where team members gather to discuss the insights shared on the Aha! board. This could be a dedicated meeting or integrated into existing team meetings or morning huddles.
❸ Encourage everyone to take turns presenting their “ahas” during review sessions. This ensures equal participation and provides an opportunity for each team member to share their learnings and perspectives. The size of your team and stage of personal growth each individual is at will influence how many aha moments they track. Set cadence and expectations in a way that is positive and supportive, but encourages participation without it being mandatory to have an aha moment every session. Some people will do a lot more and this leading by example will pull others up with them, in time.
❹ Encourage discussion around the insights shared on the Aha! board. This fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
❺ When the opportunity presents itself, use an aha idea to improve a process, adopt a routine, or weave into the culture that you want to build.
