Book Club Aha’s — Vol. 12

The FRAKXION Book Club gets together to dig into a book, build on each other’s interpretations, and pull out the aha’s that actually change how we work.

For this round, we spent our time with two reads on positioning and trust-based leadership — and by the end, our discussion board was covered in sticky notes.

The Books

Obviously Awesome: How to Nail Product Positioning so Customers Get It, Buy It, Love It by April Dunford is a practical guide to product positioning that helps businesses clearly define what makes their product unique, who it serves best, and why customers should choose it over alternatives — through a step-by-step framework and real-world examples.

Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek explores how great leaders create environments where people feel safe, valued, and supported. Drawing on examples from business, the military, and human behavior, the book examines how trust, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose can strengthen teams, improve collaboration, and inspire people to perform at their best.

Our Aha Moments

Obviously Awesome
– Weak positioning often looks like a marketing or sales problem.
– New prospects have trouble understanding your value clearly, and plug you into a position that hides it.
– Long sales cycles or low close rates.
– Attracting poor-fit customers.
– High customer churn.
– Customers asking for features not tied to your core offer.
– Under price pressure, customers say your prices are too high.
– Perceived as no different than the competitors.

Leaders Eat Last
– People perform better when they feel safe, not when they feel threatened.
– Great leaders absorb pressure instead of passing anxiety down to others.
– Trust creates courage. Fear creates self-protection.
– The strongest teams are built on belonging, not competition.

What's Coming Up Next

We’re exploring the practical playbook for turning attention into a predictable, scalable pipeline.

$100M Leads by Alex Hormozi

You can get 2x, 10x, or 100x more leads than you currently are without changing anything about what you sell. This book contains the playbooks that took the author from sleeping on his gym floor to owning a multimillion-dollar portfolio of companies — and the biggest difference between those two eras wasn’t the offer, it was how many leads he was getting. Most business owners simply don’t know how to get leads.
