Book Club Aha’s — Vol. 1:

The FRAKXION Book Club gets together to dig into a book, build on each other’s interpretations, and pull out the aha’s that actually change how we work.

For this round, we revisited three classics that shaped how we think about leadership, effectiveness, and influence — and by the end, our discussion board was covered in sticky notes.

The Books

Start with Why by Simon Sinek argues that the most inspiring leaders and organizations all communicate from the inside out — starting with purpose before getting to what they do or how they do it.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey is the classic framework of seven principles for personal and interpersonal effectiveness, from proactivity to synergy.

The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell explores how small changes, and the right conditions, can cause ideas, trends, and behaviors to spread like epidemics.

Our Aha Moments

Start with Why

– Inspire, don’t manipulate.
– Define your values with verbs — they’re easier to follow.
– If you feel it’s right and think it’s right, you’ll know it’s right.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

– Private victory precedes public victory.
– Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
– Give your children roots and wings.

The Tipping Point

– Determine what to dull and what to sharpen in order to scale.
– Maintain a bit of distance between your niche audience and the masses to stay cool.
– Stickiness is what turns attention into impact.
