The fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) role supports the CEO, President, or Executive Director in realizing their vision by directing all marketing strategies and initiatives. Often a team lacks an experienced senior leader to guide all decisions that impact how marketing is executed. Without the confidence and expertise in-house, a team can experience missteps, delays, undue stress, or do nothing for fear of not doing it right. The CMO is responsible for sourcing external partners and overseeing the delivery of quality, value, consistency, and impact. If there is an internal marketing and communications team the CMO will prioritize activities, motivate the team, and enable training or coaching to build internal capabilities, skills, and experience.
